With over 400 industry leaders and policymakers in attendance, the event centered on the massive economic and energy potential of completing the AP1000® reactors at V.C. Summer. Projections from a new PwC study suggest the project could generate billions in state GDP and provide enough clean energy to power 1.5 million homes, cementing South Carolina's position as the primary hub for America’s clean energy future.
Palmetto Nuclear Coalition S.C. State House Day: Advancing South Carolina’s Nuclear Future
The Palmetto Nuclear Coalition (PNC) convened a State House Day in Columbia, South Carolina, bringing together industry leaders, utilities, policymakers, and agency officials for a day of alignment, engagement, and forward momentum for nuclear energy in the state.
Hosted at the University of South Carolina and the South Carolina State House the day showcased South Carolina’s growing role as a national leader in nuclear innovation, workforce development, and deployment.
New Economic Impact Study
During the South Carolina Nuclear Summit, Westinghouse Electric Company announced the release of a new independent economic impact study, prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), detailing the benefits of completing the two partially built AP1000® advanced modular reactors at V.C. Summer.
